Windows
Right-click the downloaded TrueType file and choose "Install", or "Install for all users" to share it with every account. Restart open apps to see Google Sans.

Google Sans font: common questions

Is the Google Sans font free to use?

Yes. Google Sans is released under the SIL Open Font License, which lets you use it free of charge in personal and commercial work - documents, print, logos, websites and apps. The only thing you may not do is sell the font file on its own.

Is Google Sans a Unicode font?

Yes. Google Sans is a Unicode font: it covers 90 Odia characters at their standard code points, so Odia text typed anywhere - including our online editor - displays correctly in it.

What is Google Sans called in Word and other apps?

After installing it, look for "Google Sans" in the font menu of Word, LibreOffice, Photoshop or any other app that uses your computer's fonts. Web apps such as Google Docs cannot see fonts installed on your computer. That is the name stored inside the font file, and it can differ slightly from the name on this page.

How do I install Google Sans?

Download the TrueType file from this page. On Windows, right-click it and choose "Install". On a Mac, double-click it and click "Install Font" in Font Book. Restart any app that was already open and Google Sans will appear in its font list.
