How to type in Odia

Odia (ଓଡ଼ିଆ) is written in Odia script and is used across Odisha and neighbouring parts of Jharkhand, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Its script has far more letters than the 26 on a QWERTY keyboard, which is why typing it normally means installing a keyboard layout and learning where every character sits.

This editor takes a different route. It transliterates word by word: you spell a word phonetically in English, press Space, and it is rewritten in Odia script. Nothing is translated - the meaning and the sound stay exactly as you intended, only the script changes.
